The Best Part of Today

Today was an interesting day. I started by stopping at the office for our sewer treatment plant on my morning bike ride. Yesterday the sweet clerk called and told me I forgot to sign my check. I stopped at her office on my bike ride and signed the check. Gotta love small-town-USA.

Back home and in my office I took a quick left turn—researching what happens to the body the first few days after death. Fascinating, but gross. I became dizzy and had to take a snack break. The research is for my new book material that I teach to my focus group on Friday mornings. Makes you want to come, doesn’t it?! I am so excited about the material for this week’s chapter—God is not holding out on you.

The best part of my day was when all three girls called today—just out of the blue! All three calling on the same day doesn’t happen that often, but when it does I am one happy mama. We chatted as if they were here with me. I dust and fold clothes and work around the house while we talk and they do the same. Sometimes I sit on the porch swing and it almost feels they are out there with me.

When Gene came home we talked about our days.

The last of the Easter roast for supper. Gene was gracious, but glad the roast would be finished tonight. He’s always so good to eat whatever I put on the table.

While doing the dishes I texted with a dear friend who is on her way to my house from across the country. She is stuck in LA for 5 hours. She will arrive a day late. My few texts didn’t affect the progress of her travel, but hopefully they were a small bright spot in her long layover.

Life is all about relationships, isn’t it? I start the day talking with God and keep talking to Him all day. I love talking with friends and family throughout the day. Now near the end of my day I’m talking with you.

Relationships are my happy place. Thanks for your part in my crazy, wonderful day.
