Katie and My Nudge

Today was full of wonderful time with family—lots of work, but good. I helped take care of Harvey this afternoon while Kelsey and Gene worked on Kelsey and Caleb’s house. Gene and I are thrilled to be a part of their dream.

But first today I was blessed by our oldest daughter, Katie. I’m still working on my nudge. Part of this nudge will take me to an area I have no experience with. As I worked this morning I became nauseous—not throw up nauseous, but nervous nauseous. So I turned to Katie for advice. She gave me insightful suggestions. I will use each one. Talking to her subsided the nausea—at least for today.

As parents we work hard to raise our children well and be there for them. And we are happy to do so. But the real icing on the cake is when our kids are there for us because they want to be. Today was one of those days.
