God to me, “What if. . .”

This cheesecake is for the weekend. Some of the kids will be home and they love cheesecake. Also Kelsey and her family are moving—just a few minutes from where they currently live. It will be wild and crazy and I can’t wait.

But something else happened today that is also exciting. God gave me a nudge.

I’m not sure if anything will come of it. I am researching it and praying about it. And that is exciting in and of itself. The process of imagining “what if”, of seeking God’s direction, watching for doors to open or not, of gathering information, and seeing where this all goes.

I know. I hate when people post something that they can’t share about. But this piece is not about what God is nudging me towards. It is about the nudge—experiencing that whisper from God that says, “Hey, look over here.”

Sometimes it’s hard to know—“Was that God or was that me?” But this is when we lean into God to hear Him better, recognize His voice to us, and take whatever steps He directs, even if it is a not now. The point in the nudge is to know God better and become more of the person He made us to be. That includes knowing Him more deeply.

How funny that this nudge happened the day before I’m talking about this very topic at the Friday focus group. I cannot wait to talk to this precious group about “the nudge”!
