Why I’m Signing Off Social Media until Monday

I recently read a blog by Andrea Lucado about why she will be signing off social media for the weekend. I loved what she had to say. The premise resonated within my spirit. For some of her reasons and a few of my own, I decided to do the same. I will do my best to post a late afternoon blog on Friday, take the weekend off, and then sign back on Monday morning.

My reason for taking the weekend off social media (including blogging) is to give me total presence with whomever and whatever is happening on my weekend. I also need a break from thinking “social media.” For many of you social media flows from your personality onto the internet. You are fun and inspirational and I look forward to what will happen next in your life. This may not come to a surprise for some of you, but social media is not my first nature. Social media posts do not often flow from me. I need to think about what you might encourage, bless, or challenge you. Turning off that part of my weekday thinking will give my brain a chance to recalibrate and refresh.

Hear my heart–I love interacting with you online. I love seeing your posts and I love your reactions to my posts. But I need to refresh and be totally present in my world. I would love to hear your thoughts on this idea as well!

I am looking forward to a weekend of hanging with The Grand, working in the yard, getting back to church after staycation, and chilling with Gene.

I hope you have a wonderful and refreshing weekend as well.

See you Monday!
