Where I’ve Been. . .

I went MIA this summer. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for leaving without an explanation or even a note explaining where I was.

Many of you know my summer was busy planning for two of our daughters’ weddings and the third having a baby. But in mid-July something happened that would forever change my family and I. A member of my extended family was involved in a serious accident. Gene, our kids, and myself cared for their kids for part of the summer. Immediately our focus turned from wedding details to giving my niece and nephew comfort, security, love, and fun.

Yes, we moved forward in wedding planning, but we had a new perspective on what really mattered. The details of the day would get done. What was truly important were the people and our relationships with them.

Over the next few blogs I want to share with you what God is working in me and how I have experienced God working in the weeks since the accident. I have not completely processed it myself. I would like to do so with you, right here.

Yes, Katie’s wedding was beautiful. Yes, we have a new grandson. All amazing wonderful gifts God gave us in the midst of the other life-changing event.

I’m doing my best to catch up with my writing deadlines after weeks off. So let’s make a deal. . .I will process with you here and on my Facebook page, and you will faithfully read–even if I write only a little. It’s the only way we will get caught up—a little at a time.

Thank you! I’ve missed you. I would love to hear about your summers as well. Drop me a note here or at my email.
