You Are My Delight

The world whispers, even screams, its messages to you—you’re just not that great the way you are. You need to change.

The truth is you’re awesome the way you are.

Yes, we all need to live in a way to become more like Christ, but trendy clothes, the latest hairstyle, the magic number on the scale, or witty humor will do nothing to bring us joy, happiness, or make us more like Christ. Each of you delights my heart (and Dad’s) beyond words. I know God is delighted with you beyond words. “He will take great delight in you” (Zephaniah 3:17). I pray you enjoy being the you God made you to be.

We need you to be you. No one else gives the joy you give. You are wonderful.

Being you is where you will find fulfillment and be your part in showing Jesus to the world.

Think of our gold Christmas tree—each ornament unique, exquisite, specially chosen, contributing to the beauty of the tree. That’s each of you—unique, exquisite, specially chosen by God, bringing beauty and joy to others’ lives in a way that only you can.

This Christmas season give us the gift of you—be and enjoy being the you God made you to be. You will not only put a smile on Dad and my faces, but on Jesus’ as well.
