So Thankful, So Blessed, So Tired

Today was a surprise—yep, another one. I had a plan but then I got a text from Kelsey—“What are you doing today?” I know an invitation for impromptu fun when it texts me. Quick shifting of gears!

I thought I might need something new to wear for an event I will be speaking at in August. Kelsey knows my style and she has an eagle-eye to find what I like. So off we went shopping—after she gave me a mini-makeover. That too was fun. Starting to sound like Mother’s Day, isn’t it!

On the road with The Grand happily in tow, we drove through Chik-Fil-A and then on to the mall.

The first outfit I tried on was perfect. I bought the pants in two colors and the sweater in my new favorite color—navy.

I was thrilled we found just what I wanted on the first try.

Back home and after a rare failed attempt to get The Grand down for a nap (his mama has trained him to sleep well), there was nothing left to do but play. Thank goodness the Calvary had arrived—Pops was home and ready to play trains.

I snuck in a little writing and business call before making spaghetti for everyone for dinner.

Today was a sweet surprise, yet similar to many others before. Working on my joy challenge (Champagne for the Soul) makes me notice blessings and sources of joy I might have overlooked. Today was an ordinary kind of day with threads of joy woven through and through. I am so thankful, so blessed, and so tired.
