Pizza Night

When the kids were all living at home or came home from college, I almost always made pizza for Friday supper. To me it says, Family is together.

So any time the kids are here for Friday night supper, it’s gotta be pizza. Tonight Kelsey, Caleb, and The Grand were here. And, yep, I made pizza.

It’s a simple tradition and I love it.

I think simple traditions are the ones we love the most and keep the easiest.

  • Gene always puts the star on the Christmas tree before everyone (except him) decorates it.
  • Every 4th of July we all go to a 5K race in a town an hour away. Some of us run it and everyone else cheers us on. It starts at 8 so we need to leave the house at 6:30am. The sacrifice of the non-runners is not lost on me.
  • For each person’s birthday dinner, each family member says one thing they appreciate or admire about the other person. It’s a sweet time.

I’m pretty sure all of our traditions are simple. It’s just who we are. But they mean a lot to us and that’s what makes a tradition a tradition.
