Nurture Someone’s Dream

I bought these kitchen towels last week at a little kitchen store in the next town over (that’s country-talk for about fifteen minutes away). I saw some similar in a picture on Pinterest. I loved the decorating idea they were used to create. I looked everywhere I could think, but I’m not a big shopper so maybe I didn’t turn over that many stones. One day I wandered in Lori’s Kitchen Store, which is near my hair salon. Looking around at all the cute things, my eyes landed on these towels. Perfect! Just what I wanted. They were mine!

I love buying from small, locally owned stores. Not only do my dollars serve local families, but by buying small and local I am nurturing someone’s dream.

I have toyed with the idea of owning a local boutique that contains the most amazing treasures, where mothers and daughter shop together and oh and ah over the special items that speak to their spirits. I would serve free coffee and iced tea to make the shopping experience more of an experience. I would offer to take pictures of them shopping as a souvenir of their special day. (Too creepy? Maybe just one picture!)

Don’t look for my store any time soon. It’s definitely not a top ten dream of mine and I don’t have the skill set needed to be an entrepreneur. But any time I can nurture someone else’s dream I will!

I’d love to hear from you! What is your dream?
