No Writing Today

I like to start the week strong by getting a good start on my current writing work in progress. But not today. Monday morning started aggresively with a two-hour dental appointment. My dentist is very good, kind, and understanding with my apprehension. Yet, how many of us have at least one bad experience from past dentists that lurks in the shadows of our mind, waiting to shout “Boo!” at the mention of any dental work requiring a needle and drill? I do.

I know I should be mature about dental visits but I’m not. I am pleasant and my usual chatty self to my dentist and his staff—one of his best patients he told me. But I’m tense.

By the time I finished my appointment today, all my creative energy was spent. Instead of writing, I paid bills, read for a bit, and then baked this yummy low sugar chocolate loaf cake*. It’s not super sweet at only 4.8 grams of sugar per piece. I gotta do what I can to help Gene eat healthy (me too) and not feel deprived of the foods he loves.

Tomorrow is a new day! I can’t wait to start on the next chapter for my Friday focus group for What God Wished I Knew. I’m sure a piece of this cake and mug of coffee will help to keep my creative energy going!

Let me know if you try the recipe and what you think.

*I am sorry but my link is not working. The recipe is on my Pinterest board, “My New Sugarless Life.”
