Kindred-Spirit Friends

These are beautiful flowers from a beautiful friend. She and her husband hosted us for dinner tonight. The whole evening was a delight. Fun conversation. Fabulous fajitas.

There is something life-giving about being with kindred-spirit friends.

I’m in the process of preparing material on friendship for an event in August. As I think about what it takes to be a friend, a few core qualities are vital. The ability to listen without judging, to celebrate life together and truly caring about each other’s families, to give each other room to grow and not try to rush the process—these are key qualities in a kindred-spirit friend.

These are things we all can work on and do. They are solid things we can do to build friendships.

And the gift of friendship is so worth the effort.
