Another Day for which I Am Grateful

Today was like a relay race for me and am I ever pooped! As a result I don’t have any cool pics except the one I posted of The Grand on Instagram earlier today and this one of the fence.

The day started pretty calm, but before I knew it The Grand and his mama were here and the Chicago daughter was on the phone. After a crazy hour of talking on the phone and playing with The Grand, he was ready for some time “out!” (His word for outside.)

So out we went to run around the backyard, swing, climb stairs, eat one sour blackberry, and look for fish in the lake. He let me know he was ready to go in the house by going to the deck. After lunch he went down for a nap.

I used the quiet to work on the friendship material a little more (I really want to get this right).

Then off to get ready to go to my monthly Weight Watcher lifetime meeting. In the meantime Gene had come home and was attacking the fence. I felt bad leaving him but Kelsey got right in there to be the Construction Assistant of the day. (She does a better job than I do and I’m okay with that!)

I love my monthly lifetime members meeting because these women are on the same journey I am. We have lost our weight and struggle to find our new normal to stay healthy.

Back home I took over for Kelsey helping Gene. This man works like a set of twins! He has only seven panels to install before tomorrow night. We leave to visit Katie and Joe on Friday morning and the goal is to have the yard fence-ready for our dogsitters to use. He will make it!

Today was a wonderful day of being there for each other—even in the unseen ways. Gene is working hard to get the fence in to make my life easier with the dogs.

I helped him.

Kelsey helped him.

Kelsey helped me by helping Gene so I could go to my meeting.

My Weight Watcher buddies helped me to find my new normal with their encouragement and tips.

Another day for which I am very grateful. Not glamorous, but rich in relationship. My kind of day!
