A Day of Wonder and Delight

Today was one of those fill-me-up-but-exhaust-me days. We’re keeping The Grand overnight. He is in the exploratory stage so Gene and I spend much of our time watching him gather and line up rocks, while helping him up and down the porch and deck steps. He’s into throwing balls and trying to juggle like his Pops.

I know I’ve become “that grandma.” I won’t apologize, but I will try to not be insufferable.

I won’t apologize for being smitten with his every action, word, and babble, because I am in awe of how he experiences life with wonder and delight. When I am with him I, too, experience life with wonder and delight. Oh, if only I could keep this perspective every day of my life. I wonder if this is one part of what Jesus meant when He said to come to Him as little children. I’m too tired to go deep tonight. But I think tomorrow I will open my eyes wider looking for the wonder and delight God puts in my life every day.

Sleep well.
