A Beautiful Day

I have no pictures from today, so I’m sharing this beautiful picture I took yesterday about 5:00am. Its colors are as beautiful and rich as my day was with relationship and emotions.

I said goodbye to a dear friend of over twenty years. She is a missionary in a third world country and will be heading back soon. We see each other every four years. Today someone asked us if we were related because we have exactly the same coloring. We laughed and I said, “We’re sisters of the heart.” And we are. No matter how many thousands of miles or years separate us, our relationship continues to grow as we age. She and her family are right where God wants them. Gene and I are right where God wants us. The best my friend and I can do is stay connected and celebrate the very different lives we live. I am grateful to have her as my friend.

The older I grow it seems the more of my friends are moved away by life’s circumstances. This makes me more thankful that true friendship is not limited by time or distance.
