Why Be There for Your Kids?

“I’ve really appreciated and taken for granted my parents always being available. I never had to wonder where my parents were or when they were getting home. During high school, when I came home I usually spent the night in my room. But I always knew that if I wanted to talk, I would just have to walk down the hallway. They are supposed to do that with me!” Katie Garrison (Love No Matter What: When Your Kids Make Decisions You Don’t Agree With)

Moms, you do matter!

Every minute you spend with your child is not forgotten by them. When Katie was in high school it seemed like very little of the time I gave her mattered to her. But you know what? It did. It spoke my love and commitment to her and our relationship. As a wise, older parent once encouraged me,“Stay the course!”
